Experience the Joy of Music

In person and online lessons

Meet Stephanie

Certified Piano and Theory Teacher

I have had the pleasure of educating piano and theory students for the past 35 years.  I have worked with preschool children as well as the "young at heart", and have a love of all genres of music.  I believe in hard work, but I also believe that music lessons should be fun and inspiring.

Why Study Music?

Music is Science

Music is exact, specific, and it demands exact acoustics.  Music is full of frequency, intensities, volume changes, melody and harmony all at once with the most exact control of time.

Music is Math

Music is rhythmical based on the subdivisions of time into fractions which must be done instantaneously.

Music is language

Most of the terms are in Italian, German or French.  Notation is a kind of shorthand that uses symbols to represent ideas.  Music is a universal language.

Music is History

Music reflects the environment and times of it's creation.  It represents feeling of past and current times.

Music is Movement

Music requires fantastic coordination of fingers, hands, arms, facial muscles, in addition to extraordinary control of back, stomach, and chest muscles.  All must respond instantly to the sound the ear hears and the mind interprets.

Music is Art

Music takes all of the above and creates emotion.  It is what allows us to be human, to recognize beauty, to be sensitive, to have more love, compassion, gentleness........more life.
